Ready when you are.
This timer cannot decide when you need care. Call your maternity team if you think labor has started or are unsure. Seek urgent assessment for heavy bleeding, severe constant pain or less fetal movement.
This session is not saved. Refreshing or closing the page clears it. Export a copy if needed.
The little guide · By Dr. Baby
Duration and frequency measure different things
Duration runs from the start to the end of one contraction. Frequency runs from the start of one contraction to the start of the next. For example, if contractions start at 10:00 and 10:06, their start-to-start interval is six minutes, even if the first lasts 45 seconds.
What this contraction timer can tell you
Tap once when a contraction starts and again when it ends. The log displays completed durations and start-to-start intervals. Timing uses your device clock, so returning from another tab updates elapsed time. Keep the page open while timing; a refresh loses this session. A timer cannot check cervical changes, diagnose labor or decide whether it is safe to stay home.
When to contact your care team
If you think labor has started or you are unsure, call your maternity care team. Contact them promptly if your water breaks. Seek urgent assessment for heavy bleeding, severe constant pain or less fetal movement. Follow your clinician’s instructions rather than waiting for a particular timer pattern.
